Madonna memorabilia on show

An exhibition dedicated to Madonna's outfits and personal knick-knacks has opened in London. Highlights include costumes worm by the singer in the film "Evita" and in many of her best-known pop videos. The show is being put on by an investment fund looking for big returns from Madonna-mania.

Toxic French warship docks in Britain for dismantling


After five years spent being towed around the globe in search of a final resting place, France's rotting warship Clemenceau arrived this weekend in the English port of Hartlepool. Local experts say the asbestos-contaminated aircraft carrier can be stripped and its reusable parts salvaged in a safe, environmentally responsible way.

Monet masterpiece falls short of auction hopes

Claude Monet's painting "Dans La Prairie" was sold at auction in London on Wednesday for more than 11 million pounds, falling short of its guide price of 15 million.
